The Foreign Press Association of Greece expresses its deepest condolences to the family of John Rigos, distinguished and beloved colleague, with great presence and sensibility, who died on Sunday, October 23rd. He was 91 years old.
He was born on 10th July 1925 in Athens. He started his career as a journalist, translator and editor for Acropolis and Athinaiki newspapers from 1950 until 1956.
For the years 1956 – 1967 he worked for Christian Science Monitor and from 1967 until his retirement he was the correspondent of Newsweek magazine and United Press International (UPI).
He was the President of the Executive Council of F.P.A. during the years: 1968-1970, 1973-1975, 1993-1994, and an Honorary member since his retirement.
The funeral will take place on Wednesday 26th October at 16.00 hrs at the Church of Assumption of Virgin Mary, Voula (opposite the hospital Asklipio Voulas).
