AlAhram is The Egyptian international daily newspaper . He has conducted numerous press interviews with presidents, prime ministers and ministers. He has also participated in many official visits to Greece abroad. He specializes in Greek affairs and has worked as a correspondent for many national and international television channels and leading newspapers in the Arab world from Greece, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Albania and the Balkans.

born 1976 studied journalism and mass communication, politics and international relations in the universities of Thessaloniki (AUTH) and the University of Edinburgh (MSc). He worked as a reporter and editor-in-chief at the Greek newspaper »Makedonia«. His work has been featured in a range of international media including the BBC (online and radio), Haaretz and Expresso. He has been reporting for DER SPIEGEL from Greece since 2012, mostly for the foreign department. He is the recipient of the European Prize Award for investigative journalism by the European Center for Press and Media Freedom.

Yannis Kolesidis is a photojournalist based in Athens. He worked for Reuters from 2004 till 2013. Now he is working for the Athens News Agency and the European Pressphoto Agency (EPA). His photographs have been published in international newspapers and magazines such us New York Times and International Herald Tribune, Guardian, Time magazine, Stern, Paris Match etc. He spent two months in 2008 in Niger, Zambia and India, travelling on assignment for Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) and in 2009 his photographs were presented in a big exhibition in Athens. He has won several awards including: 2nd prize single “People in the News” in the World Press Photo 2009, 1st place “General News” in the Pictures of the Year International (POYi) 2011, 3rd place “Natural Disaster” in the Picture of the Year International (POYi) 2013, Award of Excellence “Portrait” in the Pictures of the Year International (POYi) 2003.

Maro Kouri has been taking pictures for social justice in the world for 25 years, focusing in Africa, Asia and Greece. Her work has been exhibited internationally in galleries, hotels, schools, bazaars and slums. She publishes photographic articles in BBC, CNN, Take Part, LFI, Journal du Dimanche, National Geographic, Newsweek, Vice, Days Japan, Der Spiegel, Nzz, Dagens Nyheter and more.
Kouri has been awarded with UNESCO honor (2003), 1st prize at the international competition SCOOP (2009), she has been honored by the PhotoPress Union of Greece (2010), her pictures were among the Best Pictures of LIFE web magazine (2011) and she has won a gold medal at the international competition PX3 (2014).
She works as a freelance photojournalist based in Athens, Greece, and she is represented by Polaris Images, New York. At the same time, she teaches in Orama Photography Studies in Athens and leads photojournalism workshops. She has taught photography as a volunteer in the Women’s Prison of Thebes. She has two daughters. Since June 2015 she has been studying human behaviour and relations at the International Institute for Therapy and Education Humaniversity in the Netherlands.

Lefteris Pitarakis is a photojournalist and videojournalist for The Associated Press. He started his career in 1995 in Athens and joined the AP in 1998. Following several years of covering Greece and the Balkans, he was assigned to AP’s Middle East operations, where from 2000 to 2005, he mainly documented the Palestinian uprising against Israel in the West Bank and Gaza Strip and also extensively covered the greater region. Additionally, he chronicled stories of conflict in Syria, Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan, Tunisia, Libya and Pakistan and the aftermath of the U.S. – led wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. From the Middle East he moved to London, where he was based from 2005 to 2015 covering the United Kingdom, Europe and Africa while continuing to travel to the Middle East on multiple assignments. His work has been published in major international publications and online media and has been exhibited throughout Europe and the United States. He has received various awards and his coverage of the 2006 war between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon was part of a group of AP photographers who were finalists for that year’s Pulitzer Prize. From 2015 to 2021 he was the AP Chief Photographer, Turkey, based in Istanbul. He covered extensively the military operations at the border with Syria and the resulting refugee crisis. A strong advocate of ethics in photojournalism, he regularly presents his work and lectures about ethics and the effects of psychological trauma to journalists to university students and conferences throughout the U.K., U.S. and Europe. He holds a Master’s Degree in Photojournalism from the University of Westminster in London and currently teaches photojournalism in Leica Academie in Athens.

John Psaropoulos is an independent journalist based in Athens. He has covered Greece and southeast Europe since the fall of communism. He has been Al Jazeera International’s Greece correspondent since 2012. John holds a BA and MA in Ancient Greek from King’s College London. He cut his teeth in journalism working as a producer for CNN International in Atlanta. From 1999 to 2009 he was Editor-in-chief of the Athens News, Greece’s historic, English-language newspaper. He has written for numerous publications including The Weekly Standard, The American Scholar, The Daily Beast, the Times Literary Supplement and The Washington Post. Thanassis Stavrakis was born in Stockholm in 1973.
He graduated from the School of Study and Practice of Photography (EMEF) in Athens.
He has been working as a photojournalist since August 1992.
Until 1997, he worked for Greek photo agencies in Athens, covering domestic and international news, feature stories, sports and traveling as a correspondent through Greece and abroad.
He worked for the daily newspaper ETHNOS from 1997 to 1999 covering major news stories in Greece and abroad.
He was freelancer for the Greek weekly magazine EPSILON of KYRIAKATIKI ELEFTHEROTYPIA from 1999-2001. During that collaboration he began working for the ASSOCIATED PRESS in Athens as a news photographer.
He has been working with Tachydromos magazine of Ta Nea newspaper since January 2007 until 2010.
The last 16 years for the ASSOCIATED PRESS has been covered dozens major social and sports events around the world. Such as Olympic Games, Soccer World Cups and Euro Championships, World and Euro Basketball tournaments, World Swimming Championships, Formula 1 circuits, riots and clashes in Istanbul. From 2008 covered and editing clashes in Athens, Financial Crisis and the refugee crisis in Greece.
From June 2014 is AP chief photographer responsible for Greece, Cyprus, Albania and FYR Macedonia.
